Thread

Thread is a Detroit-based DJ with roots deep in the underground Drum and bass scene, blending more than two decades of experience with a passion for the genre’s evolving sound. Since first picking up the decks in 2004, he has explored every corner of drum and bass, from soulful liquid and classic jungle to dark neurofunk and explosive jump up, building sets that move fluidly between atmosphere, intensity, and raw rave energy. Not long after starting out, Thread secured a weekly residency on DNBRadio, a platform he still actively hosts on today.

After moving to Downtown Detroit in 2012, Thread became increasingly involved in the city’s electronic music community. For nearly five years, he ran the weekly Techno Tuesday sessions at Urban Bean Co. (now SPKRBOX), featuring a rotating lineup of DJs (photos) while broadcasting his own hour-long segment live to DNBRadio and streaming the full event through Impulse Detroit. His dedication to the local scene eventually led him to join the Konkrete Jungle Detroit crew, where he performed as part of the collective’s takeover stage during Movement Electronic Music Festival in 2015. With deep roots in both internet radio and Detroit nightlife, Thread continues to deliver sets that celebrate the full spectrum of drum and bass culture.
